Dom’s Wish
Dom’s Wish Aughris 5K run/walk is an annual event which takes place in memory of Dominic Keenehan. This year is the third year of this fantastic event, which is taking place on Saturday, 11 July 2026. The event consists of a scenic 5K looped run / walk suitable for all ages and abilities, followed by an exciting family fun day at the Beach Bar, Aughris, Templeboy, Co Sligo, F91 YE98.
5K Run / Walk
The 5km looped route with 25m elevation showcases the stunning scenery of Aughris Head, with breathtaking views of Benbulben, Knocknarea, the Ox Mountains, and the Atlantic Ocean, before finishing at The Beach Bar overlooking Aughris Beach. This chip-timed event is open to runners and walkers of all abilities and ages. The route is also excellent for those seeking a PB. Registration for the 5K starts from 11am with the race taking off at 12pm.
To register for the 5K, click on the button below and follow a few simple steps to secure your place. The run is €20, and the walk is €10. Under 16’s go free. It is advisable to register online in advance to fast-track the registration process, but registration will also be available on the day. Cash and card payments will be accepted. There will be prizes for the top finishers!
Family Fun Day
After the run, there will be a family fun day at the Beach Bar. This year, you can expect:
- Coffee cart from 11am for registration
- Kids’ disco from 12pm
- Music all day from 2pm
- BBQ
- Bouncy castle
- Kids’ face-painting
- Ice-cream van
- Raffle
- Food vans: G-Spot Street Food & Urban Forno
- Cocktail bar
- New Dom’s Wish T-Shirts

This years’ event is hosted by Templeboy Aughris Rural Action. All proceeds raised will be put back in to the community for the further development and enhancement of the local area.
